DIY Doctor who River Song's Diary

Hello Lovelies :)

      Hope everybody's keeping well..I haven't been able to do much of the Diys past few weeks with work. But summer's coming so I'm planing to do few tutorials of summer dresses :D hope I will get time to do as I say lol (#1 rule Doctor lies! Maybe I do too xD)

Grab your Sonic screw drivers because we are going to save the world with a journal update today.. Yeah hm hum..badass

As you may already know I'm a huge Doctor who fan aka a Whovian.. I was going through Pinterest few days ago trying to find a DIY tutorial for River songs's diary.. But I had no luck. The only tutorial that was there wasn't there anymore..If that makes sense.. 

So here is my take on the infamous Diary :)

You will need..

- A sheet of craft foam 

- Tissue (later I used toilet tissue paper lol)

- Some glue

- Pair of scissors 

- Tardis blue paint

- Ruler

- Blade

And of cause your Sonic Screw driver.. Pfft I mean then whole process would be nothing without it..

Oh and don't forget some epic background music..HERE I found like The most epic mix ever.. I mean EVER!

- This is my boring old Journal I do sketches on

1. First I covered my journal with some watercolor paper so I can hide the binding and provide a great light background for a even paint job.

2. In advance I actually sketched down how I need the structure to be so I could measure out how much foam I will be needing

3. This is how it looked like after I covered it..

4. I went ahead and cut 5 1cm stripes and 8 3.5cm squares for it to look like the design infront of the Tardis 

5. Placed and glued the pieces in order.. My Sonic Screwdriver helped a lot.. Yeah  

6. To make it look worn out and used I used some toilet paper (it's not only to wipe your poop :D be creative with it) and mixed white glue with water to liquidize it..

Lather the mixture and place the paper on top. It will give it a wrinkled texture, make sure you apply few coats of the glue on top as well.. 

I left it to dry over night.

7. Mixed my self few shades of blue with black to get the effect of worn out Tardis blue.. :3

Allonsy!!! :D now wasn't that easy peasy like Fish Fingers and Custard? 

I think the Doctor was pleased!

DIY - Vintage Inspired Jewellery Display

Hello crafters,


                           Today I have an exciting new project to share with you all.. it's a two in one vintage inspired jewellery display. Lately I have been trying to get my jewellery organized in a matter that is handy to gab and wear without trying to look for it every morning. So I have been searching on pintrest of nifty ideas.
That's when I came across this super duper idea :)

I think it's very beautiful and efficient, also it's cheap and easy to make.

You'll be needing, 

- A Photo frame 
- Decorative paper ( Scrapboooking paper)
- Some tiny nails (About 1'')
- A Kitchen wire brush (Or sandpaper)
- Hammer 
- Acrylic paint and paint brush
- Pair of scissors 
- Glue






You can find all these items at your local craft store or a dollar store..

1. First I started by painting the frame. I didn't remove the glass so I will have a guide line where to finish off painting. 
you can also use spray paint. 

2. After the paint was dried I carefully took off the stand attachment at the back 

3. Then using the handy little wire brush (or sandpaper) I scraped off some of the paint to give it a worn out look. 

4. Next I took the glass off and the paper inside. Using the paper as a guide line I cut off a piece of decorative paper for liner.

5. I used my trusty ol' E6000 glue to stick the paper on and also secured the back as well. 

 The paper and the frame went so well together it looked so pretty. At this point of time I couldn't contain my excitement I ran around the house with it. lol 

6. I used the horizontal side and started marking where I wanted my nails to sit. I carefully hammered the nails in place. 

If you are fairly young please get an adult to do this. Sometimes because the nails are delicate it can fly off and you'll end up hammering your tiny fingers.

7. For the empty place with the paper I hammered some nails from the back and when I push them in I put some glue so they will be secured. Also glued some beads to the sharp ends so I won't poke my self.

And there you go :) easy enough.

A wonderful vintage inspired jewellery display.

I donno whether I should call it new or old. lol

DIY TARDIS skirt and Calgary Comic Expo

May the 4th be with you! :D Happy Star wars day

a good start? nah not really...

                                So last week I told you that I'm going to Calgary Comic and entertainment expo and I sure did go.. Unfortunately I got there too late and couldn't meet Matt Smith nor Karen Gillan :( sob sob.
But while I sob spontaneously I got to see a Tardis what! :D

Well obviously it wasn't a real thing but it was cool enough. I met so many lovely Doctor Who fans around the country. And I did went alone :3 never the less I thought it was the best day I ever spent alone.. lol

Here are some pictures from the event.

Here is how I made my Tardis inspired skirt :)

 

So first I took about 1.5m of Tardis blue fabric and marked about 3inchs at one side 

These  marked down for the pleats of my skirt. 

I pinched in the pleats and sew them down. Measured it around the waist and cut the extra bits out.

The I cut off two rectangles from a scrap white fabric to make the little windows of the Tardis 

Glued them using fabric glue -_- too lazy and time consuming to sew? may be lol

Then after it till it dry I cut off a long strip of blue fabric and folded in to get nicely edged tapes for to form the windows. Also glued them in like the lazy bat I am xD

And that's pretty much it you lot 

I thought it was simple enough that I could wear it casually.. lol oh boy.. I was so wrong amount of people who gave me the weird eye was bloody too much .. but WHO cares right? ;) I'd wear it often anyways.

Get diy crazy ladies ❤

❦ DIY Jewelry travel roll ❦

Hello Ladies,

                   I'm here with another DIY. For this I got inspired from Mr.Kate, She has a great alternative way to carry your jewelry instead of.
This,

I know many of us just have a very grr arrrm argh times when we untangle our necklaces and bracelets like this.

Mr.Kate has a super genius alternative way that you can carry them without those moanings and groanings that cannot be uttered lol,

so I took a shot on my own way to make this, it very easy and I customized mine,


Let's get Started shall we,

You'll need,  

- Two pieces of rectangle fabrics 
- Ribbon
- Fabric glue or any other glue you like (I used hot glue gun)
- Pair of scissors
- A lighter








1. I cut out my smaller square to be 40x30 and for the lager square I added 2-2.5 inches around 

2. Fold the outside extra bit half. Fold it again and glue to make the edges nice and neat.

3. I left one side open. I cut few ribbons that are about 5 inchs long. Mark where the outside fold in, make them in to a loop and glued them in a raw. 

 4. That's pretty much how the basic roll is made. You can hang your necklaces from the loops you just created. 

You can attach a long piece of ribbon on the outside or two, so you can tie your roll close 

As an extra add on I made a roll of faux fur to hold my rings :)
