DIY TARDIS skirt and Calgary Comic Expo

May the 4th be with you! :D Happy Star wars day

a good start? nah not really...

So last week I told you that I'm going to Calgary Comic and entertainment expo and I sure did go.. Unfortunately I got there too late and couldn't meet Matt Smith nor Karen Gillan :( sob sob.
But while I sob spontaneously I got to see a Tardis what! :D

Well obviously it wasn't a real thing but it was cool enough. I met so many lovely Doctor Who fans around the country. And I did went alone :3 never the less I thought it was the best day I ever spent alone.. lol

Here are some pictures from the event.

Here is how I made my Tardis inspired skirt :)

So first I took about 1.5m of Tardis blue fabric and marked about 3inchs at one side
These  marked down for the pleats of my skirt.

I pinched in the pleats and sew them down. Measured it around the waist and cut the extra bits out.

The I cut off two rectangles from a scrap white fabric to make the little windows of the Tardis
Glued them using fabric glue -_- too lazy and time consuming to sew? may be lol

Then after it till it dry I cut off a long strip of blue fabric and folded in to get nicely edged tapes for to form the windows. Also glued them in like the lazy bat I am xD

And that's pretty much it you lot

I thought it was simple enough that I could wear it casually.. lol oh boy.. I was so wrong amount of people who gave me the weird eye was bloody too much .. but WHO cares right? ;) I'd wear it often anyways.

Hope you all are enjoying the weekend...If not enjoyed..

Have fun..be creative

DIY Cold Porcelain mania!!!!

Hello people of the blog world, Okay... see I'm so darn creative, pshhht..
Anyways I'm back Earthlings :D woot

Yes, I'm sorry for not posting anything recently, I'm sure nobody even remembers me by now lol :/

So, Starting this week, I'm trying to do at least two posts a week. Hopefully I'd make it three or four weekly if it goes well :)

Back to today's post.

Like about six weeks ago I came across this magical air dry clay recipe called cold porcelain. You can make this at home with ingredients you find in your kitchen and craft bin, i mean how awesome is that?

For to make this type of clay it is simple though, I had to try out two times to get my first batch in the right consistency.
But to be honest once you get the hang of it you'll love it I promise.

For to make this air dry clay you'll need,

  • 1 cup of cornstarch (cornflour)
  • 1 cup of school glue (just normal white liquid glue)
  • 2 tbsp of baby oil (also can use cooking oil or olive oil)
  • 2 tbsp of lemon juice or vinegar (for preservation)
  • Cream or lotion
Here is an awesome tutorial on the Microwave method from Celinescreations

And here you have the Stove method by Craftygamer

both of these methods are great.

This type of clay you can buy at craft stores too. But honestly when you can make a huge batch at home easily for under five bucks you don't wanna go to the store and buy tiny bit for twice that price.

For to color cold porcelain you can use acrylic paint.

Just roll out bit of clay and put a little bit of paint on. kneed it in between your fingers. Condition it until you get the desired color. It's really simple :)

you can also dust off pastel chalk shavings.

So, these are the Porcelain friends I made :D they are all from my imagination lol, not the instagram though!

Say hi you guys!!! I gave so many away to friends and family :)

I love these three in particularity, I made the peas in a pod couple in to a necklace.

let me know if you guys need any tutorials of these.. I will be glad to make a video or a picture tutorial.

I made this pair just out of non colored clay. See its transparent.

It's actually very nice for making charms and deco pieces.

To talk about Pros and Cons of Cold Porcelain...

Pros                                                   Cons

- Affordable                                     - Shrink 30% after drying
- Easy to make                                - Seal air tight ,it dries out very easy
- Molds very nicely
- Pick up tiny details well
- Very soft
- Pick up less lint and dirt

Cold porcelain is very similar to Polymer clay in every way. But only thing is that it's an air dry clay.

About two days ago I went ahead and purchased a one bar of Sculpey iii brand polymer clay.

It was a bit expensive, I paid $15.00 for 8oz actually, and it's just plain white clay.

Here's what I so far made from that. :)

Thanks guys and hope you enjoy my post today. I'll make sure I get back to you all soon.

Happy sculpting.

Hey loves :)

Wish you all a happy prosperous new year!

I know it's new years eve but I'm bring you a fashion website review! woot! yes.. I know I've never really done this.. I found dresslink.com few weeks ago and I saw they have super cheap stuff. It's a Asian online shopping website based in China.

No I'm not associated with them nor they paid me to do this review..

I wanted it to give it a go and order few items.. FEW I said ..hehe I ordered three main clothing pieces and a pair of black lace tights tights.

Shipping wasn't that bad. I put my order on 9th Dec ,they shipped it our 11th I think and I got it today which is 31st Dec.

All together my order was like CAD $18.43 + 5.68 for shipping I got like 20% discount for Christmas time! YAY I love Discounts!

lol anyways  I'm super impressed with the stuff I received.
It's pretty good quality and materials are very reasonable for the price you pay!
I got another order coming along I put on the 27th Dec. This order I got stuff for my mom and sis :)

So I will give the information of the item, just click the title to go to the actual item on the website and compare the stock photo to what I actually got..

DIY Feather Clutch

Heeellooooowwww :3
Yes yes I know I haven't been here for a while, well sorry :|
I've been working on few sketches and doing some art work..yup!

So, I came across another easy DIY for my lovely readers :)

Inspiration..

Mine....
what you will be needing,

1. A simple pencil case

2. Feathers

3. Ribbon

4. Glue (Fabric glue/ superglue/ glue gun etc.)

6. Embellishments

Be careful and be patient when you paste on the feathers to your pencil case. Trust me if you won't, adding these feathers will be a pain in the butt!

This is how mine turned out....
added two lines of ribbon and added little pearls and golden bead flowers to embellish.

Have Fun!!!
