New store update! ❤

Hello everyone,

oh yeah! you must be wondering, store? what store?
It's actually still on beta testing stage. I opened up a facebook page for my cold porcelain miniatures and charms. Why? because I often get lots of people asking to make some for them and I simply say oh sorry I just make the for a hobby and they often give me the crazy eye asking why don't I do it as for a little business and take orders. I often will give a slouchy answer like oh I have school I'm busy and runaway as fast as I could from them.

So I said to my self what the hack and opened a fanpage yesterday. To be honest it;s exciting.

https://www.facebook.com/colourmeeverywhere

Now that is the page, I'm planing to sell my miniature charms from $1 - $5 (Rs.100 - Rs.500) nothing more than that. I do take custom orders. Shipping will be ttly free and also I target customers in Sri Lanka and Canada mostly but I'm wiling to take orders elsewhere too..

And to show you whats available for now in my store,

These sell for $1.70 (Rs.200) each and there will be more available in another two days of time :) I will make sure I update this post by then.

Thanks lovelies!
Enjoy your week!

❦ DIY Jewelry travel roll ❦

Hello Ladies,

I'm here with another DIY. For this I got inspired from Mr.Kate, She has a great alternative way to carry your jewelry instead of.
This,
I know many of us just have a very grr arrrm argh times when we untangle our necklaces and bracelets like this.

Mr.Kate has a super genius alternative way that you can carry them without those moanings and groanings that cannot be uttered lol,

so I took a shot on my own way to make this, it very easy and I customized mine,

Let's get Started shall we,

You'll need,

- Two pieces of rectangle fabrics
- Ribbon
- Fabric glue or any other glue you like (I used hot glue gun)
- Pair of scissors
- A lighter

1. I cut out my smaller square to be 40x30 and for the lager square I added 2-2.5 inches around

2. Fold the outside extra bit half. Fold it again and glue to make the edges nice and neat.

3. I left one side open. I cut few ribbons that are about 5 inchs long. Mark where the outside fold in, make them in to a loop and glued them in a raw.

 4. That's pretty much how the basic roll is made. You can hang your necklaces from the loops you just created.
You can attach a long piece of ribbon on the outside or two, so you can tie your roll close

As an extra add on I made a roll of faux fur to hold my rings :)

Easy pacey? and head over to Mr.Kate's website (here) to see her tutorial on these with Ispy DIY.

Enjoy :) and happy Diy-ing!

DIY T Shirt Update

Greetings to diy junkies and happy new year :)
Hope everybody's new year will be full of happiness,

Starting off with the new diy post, let's admit t shirts are the most comfortable things in the whole wide world next to sweat pants, so here's how to update a boring t shirt to a brand new one screaming your personality.

so we'll be needing,

-  T shirt transfer  ( I got mine from Target)
-  T shirts (Duh)
-  Pair of scissors
-  Inkjet printer
- An Iron

- Make sure you pre wash your t shirts, most fabrics tend to shrink after washing them

- I decided to kill two birds from one stone and set up both of my designs in one page,

Yes! I am a Whovian ;)

- Make sure you flip your image if you are using letters, I used Picmonkey to edit my pictures

- Cut around the design you printed and carefully place it stright where you want it to be,
- Iron over the paper and make sure you give it a good heat press, if you lack heat the transfer might be stuck to the paper not the fabric and tend to peel off afterwards

- On the white t shirt I decided to cut carefully around the letters so it won't leave a trail of ugly glue residue

-  Also I heat pressed it a little low to get the rustic vintage look.

- To get away from the boring-ness I cut few straps and stretched it in the back.

For the Whovian representation (hahaha) I cut out the sleeves and made them bows ;) (tutorial here)

because bow ties are cool!

Enjoy!

DIY - Ever so famous bow earrings

As I promised, this is the second post for the week.. woohoo :D

So , many people have been asking and buying my Ever so famous bow earrings.  lol thats what I call the anyways.
And they look like this.

So here's me trying to teach you guys how to make one of your own very easily.
This is just a one way I make them :)

To get started we need,

- Ribbon (about 1/2 meter)
- Little rhinestones
- Fabric glue or any kind of  strong glue
- Elastic bands
- A pair of scissors

1. Fold your ribbon like below to determine the length you want your bow to be.

2. Cut out tiny triangle shapes from ends and burn, do this to prevent your ribbons from unraveling.
3. This is my secret little weapon :D elastic hair bands!

5. To prevent elastic from cracking, secure it with the glue of your choice. I used Aleen's dry cleanable fabric adhesive.

6. After those dry off add a little rhinestone in the middle.

 7. Let those dry up and add your earring base and you are done :)

:) and of cause I take custom orders just drop me a message. Here are the ribbons I have for the orders.

Happy Crafting!

DIY Cold Porcelain mania!!!!

Hello people of the blog world, Okay... see I'm so darn creative, pshhht..
Anyways I'm back Earthlings :D woot

Yes, I'm sorry for not posting anything recently, I'm sure nobody even remembers me by now lol :/

So, Starting this week, I'm trying to do at least two posts a week. Hopefully I'd make it three or four weekly if it goes well :)

Back to today's post.

Like about six weeks ago I came across this magical air dry clay recipe called cold porcelain. You can make this at home with ingredients you find in your kitchen and craft bin, i mean how awesome is that?

For to make this type of clay it is simple though, I had to try out two times to get my first batch in the right consistency.
But to be honest once you get the hang of it you'll love it I promise.

For to make this air dry clay you'll need,

  • 1 cup of cornstarch (cornflour)
  • 1 cup of school glue (just normal white liquid glue)
  • 2 tbsp of baby oil (also can use cooking oil or olive oil)
  • 2 tbsp of lemon juice or vinegar (for preservation)
  • Cream or lotion
Here is an awesome tutorial on the Microwave method from Celinescreations

And here you have the Stove method by Craftygamer

both of these methods are great.

This type of clay you can buy at craft stores too. But honestly when you can make a huge batch at home easily for under five bucks you don't wanna go to the store and buy tiny bit for twice that price.

For to color cold porcelain you can use acrylic paint.

Just roll out bit of clay and put a little bit of paint on. kneed it in between your fingers. Condition it until you get the desired color. It's really simple :)

you can also dust off pastel chalk shavings.

So, these are the Porcelain friends I made :D they are all from my imagination lol, not the instagram though!

Say hi you guys!!! I gave so many away to friends and family :)

I love these three in particularity, I made the peas in a pod couple in to a necklace.

let me know if you guys need any tutorials of these.. I will be glad to make a video or a picture tutorial.

I made this pair just out of non colored clay. See its transparent.

It's actually very nice for making charms and deco pieces.

To talk about Pros and Cons of Cold Porcelain...

Pros                                                   Cons

- Affordable                                     - Shrink 30% after drying
- Easy to make                                - Seal air tight ,it dries out very easy
- Molds very nicely
- Pick up tiny details well
- Very soft
- Pick up less lint and dirt

Cold porcelain is very similar to Polymer clay in every way. But only thing is that it's an air dry clay.

About two days ago I went ahead and purchased a one bar of Sculpey iii brand polymer clay.

It was a bit expensive, I paid $15.00 for 8oz actually, and it's just plain white clay.

Here's what I so far made from that. :)

Thanks guys and hope you enjoy my post today. I'll make sure I get back to you all soon.

Happy sculpting.

DIY - Tights/leggings/jeggings refashion

Merry Christmas :)

Hope yall had a wonderful Christmas!!

Today I'm bringing my lovely readers a refashion/upcycling project and It's going to be a really straight forward project ^^

Well, enough babbling, lets get started shall we?

You'll Need:

- Old pair of tights, leggings or jeggings!
- Scrap piece of fabric
- Need and threat or fabric glue
- pair of scissors

I found an old pair of tights that had a ugly hole in the knee area.. I loved the color so, I thought it would be awesome for this project..

- Lay the tights inside out. Mark about 4'' lines starting from up-top wherever you want!
like this,

- Cut slits along the line.. Make sure it doesn't go through the other side of the tights. We want just one layer of slits!

- Take your scrap piece of fabric and cut off about 2.5'' x 1'' strips.

- Take a strip between two strips and fold the strip and sew or use fabric glue to make a bow shape!

- You should end up with something like this after all of your bows are made :)

There you go :) easy peasy right? now you have cute bow tights to rock on with your booties or heels!
